HOME SWEET HOME
Sinabung 'Cinnabun' Street
Guest Room This is the first room when you enter our house. It is very common for people to drop in unannounced. It is polite to serve tea, coffee, or water to your friends while you visit. This is a cultural difference that I have grown to appreciate. The people truly value relationships and will stop whatever they are doing to visit with you.

Family Room This room is great for when we have lots of people over. The 3 doors are our bedrooms. The house was fully furnished when we moved in which was a blessing. Oh, and the house did come with the TV that doesn't work. Great decoration, don't you think?

Kitchen We have a small fridge, rice cooker (of course), 2 burners (gas), water dispenser, etc. Ibu 'A' does most of the cooking (our helper) and I am finally getting used to the local food. However, I still love American food.

Place of worship for the majority religion Our house is very noisy since we live right next to this place of worship. Along with the yarp calls going off 5 times a day we also have many other noises: cats (seriously, they are the loudest cats!); street vendors walking their carts down the street, yelling, honking horns, and hitting gongs; and college students playing loud music. However, we have gotten used to all the sounds and most of the time they don't bother us.
